We Care Academy’s The Reading Corner (TRC) Book Club promotes reading and improves literacy in elementary students. At the start of the program students will receive their books to read and discuss for their weekly meetings. Students can visit our official Reading Corner Blog with their parents, post comments based on what they’ve read making the process more interactive. Posting comments also allows students to interact and learn from other children in their peer group, communicate with our Facilitators and play fun educational games based on the books. Our facilitators work with the students to improve their reading skills. Each week there will be a grammar, reading comprehension, creative writing, and art project prepared for the students.
During each meeting of the book club, students can actively participate in a discussion about the book and engage in various activities designed to promote literacy and creative expression (The Fine Arts). The activity will be planned for each meeting as a part of our Keep Arts Alive campaign. There are 2 semi-annual events hosted by our Book Club:
A book signing event featuring a book reading, prize packages, music, entertainment, and more exciting activities for the students and families. For the second event the group will put together a Live Play or Film Social based on the favorite book read.
