The Reading Corner Book Club

We Care Academy’s, The FUNdamen+als (TFM) Math Club, promotes critical thinking and problem solving through mathematics in elementary students. From start to finish our program is designed to evaluate and improve student’s abilities in math. Students can visit our official FUNdamen+als Blog with their parents and post comments based on what they’re curious about, thus making the process more interactive. Posting comments also allow students to interact and learn from other children in their peer group, communicate with our Facilitators and play fun educational games utilizing mathematical equations. Each week the lessons are tailored to the different forms math problems take such as word problems, percentages, measurement, and proportions. Our program is also designed to keep the arts involved by using images and rhythms to reflect larger concepts.

During each meeting of the math club, students can actively participate in a discussion about the equations that stump them the most and engage in various activities designed to promote math skills and critical thinking. During these discussions students will also be given real life examples as to how their lessons can be applied to daily life. The activities will be planned for each meeting as a part of our Keep Arts Alive campaign.

Math Club Member’s Package

Membership increases children’s exposure to books, improves literacy and reading skills, math skills, and problem solving abilities. The children will enjoy a more interactive and social reading experience. Children are provided with quality reading material, access to our Reading Corner Blog, and Reading and Math Instructors (Facilitators) who provide assistance to the students. During club meetings the students can participate in socializing around quality reading material, learning math and critical thinking from their peers, and take part in creative art projects.
