Currently we are making significant plans to create the Be Art House: a community based art and cultural gallery under We Care Academy’s Keep Arts Alive annual campaign. This gallery and workshop space is an investment in Atlanta’s art, education, and cultural community. Up and coming artists and young people often struggle with finding a place where they can express themselves freely, explore their creativity, and learn about art as an industry. The Be Art House is a place where young artists and students especially can learn, grow, and develop their skills in a supportive and innovative environment.
One of the Be Art House’s defining characteristic is its commitment to the preservation and promotion of artwork and art history that Atlanta has to offer. We will also be an institution that cares for a collection of artifacts and objects of artistic, cultural, and historical significance. Within our space these works will be made available for public viewing pleasure and educational enrichment. The continuing acceleration of digitization of information combined with the increasing capacity of digital information storage, we will also take steps towards providing virtual exhibitions online.
Through a partnership with the Atlanta BeltLine each year our ETA students create a public work of art to be featured along the BeltLine’s route. With the development of the Be Art House our teen artists will finally have a central location to work from allowing the program to expand and reach even more students.
Thank you so much for reviewing this proposal and helping We Care Academy contribute to children’s lives and improve our Metro Atlanta community.
